1/30/23: Updates from Trini

Had an awesome week. Me and my comp have really dialed in to the missionary work here and we got a lot of big thing coming up. The biggest is that la familia Coimbra has committed to baptism this weekend! There a big family but each and every member  has truly found a testimony of the restored gospel and a love for Jesus Christ. The older boys, Boris Jesus and Victor prayed and thought a lot about the decision. I'm actually very proud and impressed by their efforts to find an answer from God. They studied diligently in the Book of Mormon, had lots of questions for us and most importantly took their doubts and question to the Lord. Finally this last Sunday they gave a firm answer that they want to be baptized. I know their efforts will be rewarded with a firm testimony and commitment to the gospel. I'm glad they took the time to truly know for themselves that the gospel is true. Pray for la famila Coimbra.

We also had a very special experience at zone conference. President called us a week ago and asked for the contacts of our some recent converts so we sent him the contacts for Loriani who was a YSA aged convert from last month. She really is the best and has the most pure testimony. When zone conference came around I had forgot about that, but in the middle of the conference here and all her family came in to share their testimonies with us, the missionaries. It was really nice to hear their testimonies especially after seeing them grow in the gospel. I felt the spirit very strongly as she testified of the importance of missionary work and how it had changed her life. She truly is another convert for life and already has a calling in the stake with goals to go on the mission. It's such a blessing to be at least a small part of her conversion.

Funny story. One of the lights caught on fire due to bad wiring and we couldn't figure out how to put it out. Started by throwing g flour at it, then beating it with towels. Finally the towel method seemed to work but all the electrical in the house got fired. That included the pumps for our water. So we were living with out lights and water for a day and half which was less funny. We got everything fixed except the
AC so the joke just keeps going.

Anyways it's all amazing down here. Pray for la familia Coimbra and all the people down here in Trinidad! Can't wait to share about more miracles next week
