6/16/21: Halfway through!

Hey everybody! Three weeks down, three to go. Bon Jovi really speaks to me now not just because I'm officially "halfway there", but as a missionary, I am truly "livin' on a prayer"

The good news is I've got my travel itinerary destination, Reno Nevada. It's funny because the flight plan has me going to Los Angeles and then to Reno which triple the travel time and it actually would be faster just to drive from where I am. But oh well haha.

Some more family has come into town with uncle Kyle and aunt Jasmine coming to visit aunt Rhonda. My Uncle Kyle was helping me with my Spanish by referring me to the best study material out there and aunt Jasmine was helping with her extensive fashion knowledge to pick out a new suit. It's fun to see so much family in between the hours of staring at a screen. I was thinking before this last year no missionary has had an MTC experience quite like this but it's been fun and truly a great start to a  mission. I was kinda disappointed at first to hear I was going in person, but after being able to be with my extended family so much I'm truly grateful for the experience I get to have with them before I'm gone for two years.

My distract is truly amazing. I learned so much from them each member every time we meet and our teachers, Hermana Martinez and Hermano Figueroa could not be more thoughtful and caring for us. Hermana Martinez is one of the most intelligent and organized people I've met and she's really helped my language and testimony grow. And Hermano Figuroa has helped guide me in my people and teaching skills with his transformation into "Eduardo" each day, a man who speaks no English and needs to urgently be taught the gospel. As well every member of the district has been such a great influence on my own growth as a missionary too. I think of how Jesus called such a variety of people to be His disciples because everyone has such different strengths and knowledge and we all can learn from each other.

These three weeks have flown by and I know the next three will too, so I'm trying to enjoy every moment.

Until next week
