8/16/21: First Transfer
Transfer new came out yesterday and I get to stay in Quincy which is great! Elder Feist is still my companion and he is zone leader now. I'm happy I get to stay because I'm really loving this area and the work is picking up a lot.
The Wearin family and their boys Logan and Jack are still excited about baptism. Theyre progressing very well and eagar to keep meeting with us so that's great news. We've ran into a lot of other people that are interested in the gospel so we're working to set up lessons with them now. Lots of less active and part member family work as always and the grind never stops.
This last Monday- Tuesday was exchanges so we went up to Susanville to work with the Elders their. I went with Elder Bake to the evacuee camp at Lassen College. We got their and there was a sea of tent across the quad. We went there to visit a member, Reese, who has lost his home in the fire. He seemed very upbeat when we saw him and tried to make the best of things by enrolling in classes at the college! Immediately when we met up with him he started to take us around to other in the camp and say, " I wanna introduce you to my friends the missionaries, they're going to teach you a lesson" and then leave us to do so. He was very bold but it was very effective! We taught dozens of lessons, (2 in Spanish), ran out of Book of Mormons Bibles and pass along cards, and gave blessings and prayed with people. Easily the most active 3 hours of my mission. We met a lot of people the had lost everything in the fire, but we also saw the hope they had and help they were receiving from people all over. It was truly inspiring.
First transfer down and 16 more to go!!
Talk to you all next week
