6/20/22: Ultima multizona por Presidente Hawkins

 This last week we had our current mission president. The mission is a bit sad about it as he had a big impact on the Bolivia Santa Cruz Norte mission. He helped a lot of missionaries through the pandemic and through other difficult times. Hearing his last testimony was powerful, its clear President Hawkins believes firmly in our abilities as missionaries and that the Lord is working alongside all missionaries. In my last interview with him, he told me the same and and it was very encouraging to hear.

We got to hear lots of "dying testimonies" this last Zone conference from some great missionaries including my companion. One that stood out was from my friend Elder Teceros, a missionary the lives in our same house. When I arrived to my current zone, Elder Terceros was in a tough spot, struggling with depression and self doubt. It seemed every leadership council we were talking about how to help Elder Teceros. I prayed a lot for my friend, and for a while it seemed he was struggling more and more. However these last few weeks there been a change. His excitement for missionary work has excellent and there's now a noticeable light in his spirit. His last testimony gave me some insight on his journey. He talked about how he found the freeing of the atonement. He shared a scripture that touched me deeply,
"3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;" (Titus 3:3-6)
He shared how only by the power for Christ could he find relief from doubt fear and depression caused by sin. He said President always told him he thought like a catholic because he suffered from pains guilt he thought he deserved. But it's is not by our suffering are we saved but by that of Christ. This message touched my heart.

My companion and I have made goals to make better friendships with members. We've been super focused on missionary work we hardly have had and time with members. It great to because it the 2 year anniversary of our ward so there are  activities every day this week. We made a goal to attend each day and bring an investigators to every activity. I think member work in also important as a missionary. It's also the only opportunity I'll have to be here with the great people so I want to take advantage of my time and make friends while I'm here as well strengthen testimony within the ward.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Praying for you all

Elder Allen
