9/5/22: Al Beni yo me quiero ir
Trasfer came an went thie last weeek and i couldnt be happier with where Ive been assigned. I was assigned to open up a new zone in Beni! Beni is the is the department north of Santa Cruz and the wilder part of our mission. There three zones in the three largest cities in Beni, Trinidad, Riberalta and the newest which we will be opening this transfer Guayaramerin. Guayaramerin is the smalest of the three that sits right on the border of Brasil. Theres a huge river, La Mamoré that seperates Brasil and Bolivia but that doesnt stop anyone from boating across. So that make Guayaramerin and interesting mix of culture with Brasilians, Bolivians and people from all over. Ive been practicing Portuguese.
To get here we had to take a two hour flight from Santa Cruz to Riberalta. Of course there was all sorts of complications with the flight and we ended up taking of 3 hours later than planned. We landed at the smallest airport Ive ever seen and were greeted by an insufferable heat and the missionaries in Riberalta, that part was nice. Then we took anouther two hour bus ride to Guayaramerin crossing though beutiful jungle scenery right during sunset. When we go to the house (more like a garage converted into habitation), we got right to work killing and buring all the termites that had infested our room. We later found a tarantula and with make shift bug spray blow torch we took cake of it swiftly, video in the drive link.
Aside from all craziness of Beni this week has also been filled with touching miricles. firstly, in my last area Isreal came back to church which was a small miricle I got to see right before I left Progreso. Here in Guyaramerin we found a couple that is already facinated with the plan of salvation with dozens of question. In the lesson we had with them I felt the spirit speaking though me and my companion in a profound way. Also working alongside the Branch leadership has been great. We met with the Distract President and the Branch President and both have a stong testimony of the gospel and missionary work. on sunday we went out with the branch president and the ward secretary on motercycles to visit inactive members. Both motorcycles and inactive member are plentiful here but were he to help out with the second.
So far Ive really enjoyed my new area, new comp and the brand new zone. Its tough living here but the people here need the gospel just as much as the rest of the world. Ive already seen such strong testimoies in the members Ive met and I know there more people waiting to here the message we share.
Ive got a thousand more thing I could write but I thingk Ill leave it there for now.
Enjoy the week and dont forget to say you prayers.
