2/20/23: "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake"
Buenos tardes a todos
Transfers happened and I happy to say I'm staying in my area, Moxos, with my same companion. We have big goals for this transfer since we're sticking together we wanna match our goal of 8 baptisms.
As well almost the whole zone was the same which is good because we had such a great last transfer. We set a high goal for baptism but I'm confident there's lots people that need to be saved. That's why our new zone motto is "Vision de Salvar" or "vision to save".
The best new was that the last brother in la famila Coimbra was baptized! He decided after talking to our branch president at an activity. He also asked our branch president to baptize him which was a sweet and spiritual moment. Unfortunately Isela still can be baptized due to the same issues but she's staying firm in her faith and helps all her boys keep their covenants and have priesthood, temple trips ans missions in their goals.
Anouther cool experience was with a mototaxi driver, Rider, that we starting teaching. I taught him the first lesson as he gave me a ride to a lesson and he really rook to the gospel. He told me his dad was baptized in the church and was elders quorum president a very long tome ago. Though he never was baptized said the book of Mormon was very familiar to him and he knew its history and all the stories. We invited him to be baptized, he was all for it but he said at the time he was living in a church with a pastor that really was against the Church of Jesus Christ. Afraid hed be evicted, he explained in May he would be able to find stability and live independently again and could be baptized then. That same Saturday we called him, he told us that same morning they found his book of Mormon and kicked him and his two daughters out to the streets. We called our brach president and elders quorum president and the quickly found a place for him and his family to get out of the rain. He told us "this is my trial of the faith". The next day he came to church beaming and talking about baptism. He even landed his motorcycle to help the Familia coimbra get home.
This reminds me of the beattitude: "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Rider was persecuted for his belief in the Book of Mormon and the church of Jesus Christ. But he endured his trial with strong faith and for that he will be able to enter the kingdom of God. I'm excited for his baptism and I'll keep you all updated.
Thanks for the prayers
Elder Allen
Missionary challenge:
The main reason we've had amazing success this transfer was from amazing members referrals. I've invited my own family to do this but I invited everyone reading this to think of 4 people in their lives and send these names to the missionaries in the next two weeks. As well, share your testimony with them, through a text, call or in person. Both you and the missionaries you're helping will feel and amazing joy even just by inviting. The field is white here in Bolivia and I promise it's the same wherever you live, be it Salem or Salt Lake there's people that need to be saved!!
